Serve this crispy-on-the-outside, ooey-gooey-on-the-inside grilled cheese.

How to make it

    Place 1 cup LAY’S® Classic Potato Chips on parchment paper–lined baking sheet; using rolling pin, finely crush.

    Spread mayonnaise over 1 side of each bread slice. Press mayo side of each slice into crushed chips.

    Sandwich cheddar between the 2 bread slices, chips-side facing out.

    In skillet set over medium-low heat, melt butter. Cook grill cheese sandwich, flipping once halfway through the cook time, for 4 to 6 minutes or until golden and toasted, and cheese is melted.

    Cut sandwich in half and serve with remaining potato chips on the side.

Tips & Tricks

  • Substitute sharp (old) cheddar cheese with medium or mild cheddar if preferred.
  • Serve with tomato soup if desired
